The Socioemotional Benefits of the Arts: A New Mandate for Arts Education
WolfBrown collaborated with Johns Hopkins’ Science of Learning Institute, and a cohort of the William Penn Foundation’s Philadelphia-based arts education grantees, to define the impact of arts education programs on students’ socioemotional skills. This report offers a brief summary of this research.
The William Penn Foundation, WolfBrown, & Creative Generation To Produce A Professional Development Series
In June 2022, the William Penn Foundation partnered with WolfBrown and Creative Generation to produce “Reinventing Strong Practices: Equitable Access to Creative Opportunity,” a six-part series re-examining arts education for social justice. Philadelphia and Boston artists and educators will redefine their roles in schools, with the series available for Philly’s teaching artist community in August. The series will form the basis for a research study supporting the Foundation’s grantees in Philly Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year. WolfBrown’s Creative Opportunities work assists institutions worldwide in designing, implementing, and evaluating creative learning programs.
