Lincoln Center Education (LCE), the educational arm of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, develops innovative programming to expand access and enrich the creative lives of New York City’s diverse families. LCE engaged WolfBrown over a period of five years to be its thought partner in developing program designs based on theories of change, and to develop and conduct evaluations of community programs such as Boro-Linc, Family-Linc, and LC Local: Free Screenings.
Research methods included individual, in-depth interviews with caregivers, observational research at events, ethnographic research with participating families, and a variety of survey research tools. The rigorous examination of outcomes allowed for an expansive dialogue between WolfBrown and LCE staff as to its current and potential role in New York City’s crowded marketplace for youth-oriented cultural programming.
