Arts Council England: Understanding the Value and Impacts of Cultural Experiences

Arts Council England selected WolfBrown to prepare a rigorous literature review on frameworks and approaches to measuring the “value” and “impacts” of arts experiences, as part of its ongoing exploration of approaches to measuring artistic and cultural quality. In commissioning this work, Arts Council England asked, “…how do we enable cultural organisations to report on the main focus of their work, rather than just things like the financial sustainability of their business?”

The resulting research report, Understanding the Value and Impacts of Cultural Experiences, assisted Arts Council England in considering new approaches to measuring value, and contributed to the international discourse on the impact of the arts and impact measurement.
