Rockport Leadership Retreat

Dennie Palmer Wolf and Tom Wolf just wrapped up the third annual four-day Rockport Leadership Retreat in Maine for first-time executive directors. Serving as faculty in conjunction with long-time WolfBrown collaborator Stanford Thompson and Emily Master, the intensive seminar this year served emerging leaders from seven states, all of whom represented music and/or music education organizations. Participants shared their own “case histories” and work challenges with the group working collectively to help them think through strategies for success. In addition, faculty members make presentations on particular content areas.

No sooner had the retreat ended, than one of the participants sent off this quick message:

“… A fantastic retreat. I came with a lot of questions for my organization and not quite sure where I needed to focus my energy going forward. I left with some real clarity, energy, and an extended community of executive directors and colleagues to call upon.”

While the retreat is by invitation in order to ensure a healthy mix of backgrounds, geographies, and experiences, anyone interested in being considered for the August 2024 retreat can contact Stan Thompson for more information. His email is below:
