CLIENT CASE STUDIES
South Carolina Aquarium
The South Carolina Aquarium is one of Charleston's premiere cultural institutions and an anchor of cultural tourism in the city. In 2006, the institution embarked on a strategic plan under the leadership of a new director. The process, guided by WolfBrown consultants and a high-level planning committee that included the Mayor, involved a broad range of constituents - board, staff, volunteers, and community leaders. It involved working groups in nine functional areas of activity setting priorities for the future. It also included a comparative analysis of other institutions for best practice information. The final plan included extensive budgetary analysis to complement an exciting vision for the future and action steps with criteria and timetables for completion.
