Public Corporation for the Arts
WolfBrown developed a comprehensive community planning project for this Long Beach, California organization. Open public meetings, a random sample telephone survey of the general public, an economic impact study, and an inventory of cultural resources were all part of the process. The final plan made recommendations on facilities, marketing, new revenue sources, and outreach and education. After two years, many of the recommendations of the plan have been implemented, including a funding mechanism that has provided in excess of $200,000 annually for arts and cultural activities. In addition, the sponsoring agency has taken on new responsibilities coordinating city arts-related activities, and plans for a downtown cultural district are moving forward.
